More women attracted to postal bank savings service
LAHAN: Women from poor and underprivileged communities in Siraha district are attracted to the Women Postal Savings Bank after they were provided with attractive interest rate.
The bank was established at the District Postal Service Office, Siraha, in 2053 BS with a view to providing access to poor village women. The bank provides direct services to 586 village women. Up to now, village women have deposited over Rs 11.6 million in the bank, said Ananta Raj Nepal, a bank official. Another official Amit Lal Yadav said number of depositors is increasing day by day following the bank’s credibility. Anita Bhakta Bere, a depositor, said the bank has proved a boon for them as they can save small amounts of money and account-opening is easy.
