NBI programme held

KATHMANDU: National Banking Institute Ltd (NBI) organised a one-and-a-half day programme titled ‘Director Refresher Course for Microfinance Institutions' here recently.

The programme was conducted for the directors of microfinance institutions.

Altogether 30 directors from 12 different microfinance institutions participated in the programme, as per a press statement.

The speakers for the programme included former governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Yubaraj Khatiwada; Narayan Prasad Paudel, executive director of NRB; Upendra Kumar Paudel, executive director of Micro Finance Promotion and Supervision Department, NRB; Dev Kumar Dhakal, director of Micro Finance Promotion and Supervision Department, NRB.

The programme was instrumental in understanding the roles and responsibilities of directors, issues and challenges faced by microfinance institutions and possible way forward, the statement adds.
