NBA, GAN condolence

KATHMANDU: Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) and Garment Association of Nepal (GAN) conveyed condolences at the demise of former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. Both associations in separate press releases lamented his death saying his absence will be highly felt by the whole private sector since he was the one who facilitated the private sector

by bringing in economic liberalisation policy.

BoAN’s service

KATHMANDU: Bank of Asia Nepal (BoAN) has started E-ticketing online service in association with Yeti Airlines. BoAN’s customers can book Yeti Airline’s tickets through Internet. Yeti Airline’s director Pradip Bikram Shah and BoAN’s managing director Laxman Risal signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Sunrise’s branch

KATHMANDU: Sunrise Bank Ltd has started undertaking banking transactions from its Udaipur district’s Jaljale branch. Bank deputy general manager Bala Ram Bista said, “Since the area has lots of small and medium sized industries the bank is looking forward to delivering services and promoting such industries there.” SrBL has collected deposit Rs 13.76 billion of which Rs 12.2 billion has been lent as loans and Rs 1.36 billion has been invested. The bank was successful in earning Rs 15.22 million within six months of this review period. SrBL already has 28 branches and 30 ATMs all over the country.

Microsoft tech fair

KATHMANDU: Microsoft Nepal is organizing Microsoft Tech Fair with special assistance from Russian Culture Centre on March 29 and 30. This tech fair is being held to promote the skills and abilities of information technology students. Microsoft Nepal believes that this tech fair is first of its kind. Ten thousand students are estimated to visit the two day fair in which a discussion program with national and international experts of information technology will also be held. Microsoft Nepal has been working for information technology development in Nepal and has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the promotion of information technology.
