KATHMANDU: The National Planning Commission on Sunday endorsed the draft of the 14th periodic plan (FY 2016/17-2018/19).

A meeting of the supreme national planning body presided over by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal endorsed the document.

Meanwhile, speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal said the fiscal planning should focus on implementation of federalism, institutionalisation of provincial structures and planning for their effectiveness.

"We are still in the phase of transition," he said, "Though the political transition is resolved to some extent; transition in fiscal planning and structure is still there."

Likewise, Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi said the plan should emphasise human resource management and infrastructure development among others.

Earlier, the NPC Vice-Chairman Min Bahadur Shrestha had presented the draft before the meeting.
