NATO dismayed at Tarai strike

Kathmandu, February 11:

Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO) today expressed its dismay over the proposed indefinite strike called by the United Democratic Madhesh Front in Tarai area from February 17.

Besides hitting tourist movement in Tarai destinations, the bandh will once again send negative destination image of Nepal in the global tourism market, claimed NATO in a press

release today. The announcement of an indefinite closure of all border points and roads leading to the hills could lead to cancellation of bookings, claimed NATO, which in turn

would hit the tourism industry that was showing signs of revival.
