Naza cars make debut in Nepali market

Kathmandu, June 18:

Alpine Motors Company Pvt Ltd (AMC), the sole distributor of Naza Corp, the Malaysian carmaker for Nepal, today opened its authorised showroom and unveiled two of its models - Naza Sutera and Naza 206 Bestari.

According to Dev Swaroop Maharjan, managing director of AMC, Naza is the Malaysian version of French Peugeot and available with fully loaded options.

Of these two, Naza Sutera is a compact family car with 1.1-litre DOHC 16-valve engine and yields a maximum power of 48 KW @5700 and has a maximum torque of 88Nm@3300-3500 rpm.

The Naza Sutera is engineered for safety with features like dual airbags and central locking system. The car is priced at Rs 1,500,000 as an introductory offer.

“The Naza 206 Bestari is iconic in design with graceful curves and stylish outlook,” said Maharjan, adding that it comes with 1.4-litre MPFI engine.

Equipped with Peugeot TU3 engine, the sporty hatchback gives a maximum power of 75Ps @ 5500rpm and a maximum torque of 120Nm @ 2800rpm. A sturdy body-shell with crumple zones and dual airbags in the car assure a greater safety and is priced at Rs 2,500,000.

Surendra Malla, vice-president of AMC and Haji SM Shalahuddin SM Amin, president of Naza Corporation, jointly inaugurated the showroom at Lazimpat, Royal Palace North Gate.

The company is offering 50,000-km or two-year warranty or extended warranty of 100,000-km or three-year warranty on all models.

The company claims that Naza Sporty is its lineup model.
