KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 11
Ncell Foundation, in partnership with NAASA Securities, has launched the "Safer Internet Together" (SIT) initiative to promote cybersecurity and digital safety awareness among students across Nepal.
Announced on Safer Internet Day 2026, the nationwide project aims to reach over 50,000 students, educators and community members. Initially covering schools in Bagmati, Gandaki and Madhesh provinces, the initiative will later expand nationwide, according to the company.
The programme includes awareness sessions for students from Grades 3 to 12 and distribution of a specially curated internet safety handbook, it noted.
Ncell CEO Michael Foley said the initiative aims to equip young people with knowledge to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. NAASA Securities Managing Director Madan Paudyal emphasized that digital literacy is as essential as financial literacy in today's environment.
So far, sessions have been conducted in nine schools, benefiting more than 7,000 students.
