The Nepal Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA) — the umbrella organisation representing automobile dealers of the country — is holding the election for new executive committee on Monday.

According to NADA, 18 contenders have filed their candidacy for 14 executive posts at NADA.

Among the candidates who have filed their nominations for different executive committee posts in NADA, Sambhu Prasad Dahal and Ram Kadel are in the presidential race. Both Dahal and Kadel have already announced their respective panels.

Dahal, who is also the current vice-president of NADA, is backed by Krishna Prasad Dulal, Karan Chaudhary, Anup Kumar Baral and Deepak Agrawal, among others. Similarly, Kadel is backed by Shambhu Subedi and Sumiran Acharya, among others.

Past presidents of NADA — Shekhar Golchha and Saurabh Jyoti — are also learned to be supporting Sambhu Dahal.

Meanwhile, both candidates in presidential race have said they will work for the betterment of Nepal’s transportation industry and NADA if they are elected to NADA’s top post.

“Under my leadership, NADA will work to address different setbacks prevailing in Nepal’s automobile sector,” said Dahal.

Meanwhile, Kadel said that his leadership at NADA will primarily focus on uniting all automobile dealers of the country and working together to address common challenges in the automobile sector.
