KATHMANDU, JANUARY 29

A direct flight from Nepalgunj to Kailash Manasarovar in the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China has commenced today after extensive effort.

Keshav Neupane, regional director of the Siddhartha Business Group, informed that a chartered airplane of Shree Airlines boarded 38 Indian tourists on its maiden flight to Kailash Manasarovar today. Neupane mentioned that the Indian tourists hailed from various cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.

Dr. Om Mishra, Managing Director of Mero Planet, expressed his happiness about the resumption of flights to Kailash Manasarovar after a prolonged hiatus.

He noted the significance of the direct flight between Nepalgunj and Kailash Manasarovar and believed that Nepalgunj had established itself as a tourist destination with the operation of this flight.

Shreeram Sigdel, Chairperson of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travels (NATA), Banke Chapter, expressed confidence that the direct flight from Nepalgunj to Kailash Manasarovar would significantly contribute to the promotion of tourism in Nepalgunj. He also urged for more effective flights between Nepalgunj and Pokhara.
