KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 9
A 10-member delegation of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry paid a courtesy call on Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
The Qatari delegation, led by Board Member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al-Obaidly, is on a three-day visit to Nepal to participate in the first Nepal–Qatar Joint Business Council (JBC) Meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the importance of strengthening private sector collaboration in areas including trade, tourism, commerce, investment, technology and broader economic partnership.
Head of the delegation Al-Obaidly expressed Qatar's commitment to developing a concrete roadmap for mutual cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
Foreign Secretary Rai reiterated the Nepal government's commitment to extend all possible support to facilitate effective engagement between the private sectors of Nepal and Qatar.
The Nepal–Qatar Joint Business Council was established under an agreement signed in April 2024 during the State Visit of the Amir of Qatar to Nepal.
