Nepal Rastra Bank enters 52nd year

Kathmandu, April 27:

Nepal Rastriya Bank celebrated its 52nd anniversary at an elaborate function in its premises in Baluwatar here this afternoon.

The programme was attended by a host of dignitaries from the financial sector, mediapersons and employees of the bank.

The special invitees included former governors, chief executives of Bankers’ Association, chairmen and CEOs of all the 19 commercial banks, CEOs of national level Development Banks along with the chairmen of finance companies.

The function chaired by NRB governor Krishna Bahadur Manadhar started an hour behind schedule with the address of the deputy governor Bir Bikram Rayamajhi. NRB employees who have served the bank for over 25 years were presented with the long term service awards followed by a prize distribution for various competitions like volleyball, quiz and literature that were held on the occasion.

The governor’s address dwelt on the state of the national economy and highlighted the performance of the central bank amidst a changing politico-economic environment.
