NRA seeks NGOs' support to rebuild

Kathmandu, April 23

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has called on the charitable organisations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to rebuild the houses of vulnerable families.

NRA has listed a total of 18,505 vulnerable families in quake-affected 31 districts, who are not able to rebuild their house. The NRA will provide grant money of Rs 300,000 to the charitable organisations to rebuild the house of each vulnerable family and they can mobilise up to Rs 50,000 on top of the grant amount, according to Yuba Raj Bhushal, CEO of NRA.

As per Bhushal, NRA has received 5,500 proposals so far from such organisations and NRA will release the grant amount to those that have submitted credible proposals.

As per NRA, 91 identified vulnerable families comprise of only children (under 16 years); 243 families include disabled; only senior citizens (above 70 years) in 9,147 families and only single women in 9,024 families.
