KATHMANDU: Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology has provided Nepal Standard (NS) certification to three liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plants.

The gas companies acquiring the NS certification are Janaki Gas Industry, Nawalparasi, Metro Gas Industry, Dhading, and NL Gas Industry, Birgunj. The bureau provided the quality certificate to these gas companies after monitoring them. With this, the number of gas plants with NS certification has reached seven.

A total of 55 gas factories are in operation across the country. Manoj Gas Industry, Birgunj, Shree Krishna Gas Industry, Dhading, Sai Baba Gas Industry, Dhading and Nepal Gas Industry, Balaju, have already acquired the NS mark.

Director General of the Bureau, BishwoBabuPudasaini, said that the bureau has sought necessary documents from all gas companies in order to provide NS certification to them within two months.
