Nepal wins award at Indian travel fair
Kathmandu, February 15:
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) along with nine private agencies from Nepal participated in the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) and Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) held at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on February 10-12. NTB also won the coveted prize for ‘Best group participation from foreign countries’, states a press release.
Some 150 international participants representing 25 countries and 22 NTOs besides 250 regional participants from India made it to the fair this year. Altogether 400 exhibitors saw a flow of 4,000 trade visitors and 6,000 general visitors during the three-day event.
Apart from the NTB, Samrat Tours and Travels Pvt. Ltd, Satyam Tours and Travels Pvt Ltd, Explore Kailash Treks Pvt Ltd, Dolpa Treks Pvt Ltd, Himalayan Guides Nepal Treks and Expeditions Pvt Ltd, Richa Tours Pvt Ltd, Sunny Travels and Treks Pvt Ltd, Heritage Tours and Travels Pvt Ltd and China South Asia Tours and Travel Pvt Ltd participated from Nepal.
According to the NTB press release, the Nepali stall with its brand image of ‘Naturally Nepal -Unleash Yourself’ and sub-brand ‘Visit Pokhara Year 2007’ drew an overwhelming response from the visitors. The Nepal pavilion made a strong and visible presence of Nepal as an inbound destination for Indian tourists and the trade industry. Visitors appeared to be keen on establishing a partnership in order to send more and more Indian tourists to Nepal while the general visitors made frequent queries on the seven to ten days packages.
