Nepali carpet show in Moscow

Kathmandu, July 5:
With a view to promote Nepali carpets in Eastern Europe, Nepal Carpet Exporters’ Association (NCEA) is organising a four-day long Nepali carpet exhibition-cum-Nepal eve from July 12 to 15, in Moscow. “The first of its kind exhibition in the capital city of the Russian Federation will be a milestone in promoting Nepali carpet exports not only in Russia but also in all East European cou-ntries,” said Kabindra Nath Thakur, president of NCEA. The programme is being supported by Nepali embassy in Moscow, Russia-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Carpet and Wool Development Board and Export Promotion Board. Carpet industries including Pranjali Carpet, Rolpa Carpet, Khumbu Carpet and Creative Rugs are showcasing their products during the exhibition. “Carpet manufacturers and exporters as well as a Nepali delegation will have a comprehensive discussion with Russian importers,” said Thakur, adding
that more than 25 Russian importers are taking part in the interaction. He also informed non-resident Nepalis based in Moscow and other parts of Russia have taken part in the promotion of the exhibition through R-NCCI and the Nepali embassy. As of now the Russian and the East European markets are being covered from Germany, the largest market of Nepali carpets.
