Nepali trade team heads for CACCI meet

Kathmandu, October 30:

A delegation of Nepali businessmen today left for Taipei to take part in the 40th anniversary and 21st conference of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), scheduled for October 30 to November 2.

A 12-member delegation led by Chandi Raj Dhakal, president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), will also participate in 71st CACCI council meeting.

Besides regular event of review of past activities and setting up of new plan of action, business leaders and entrepreneurs from the Asia Pacific region will extensively discuss various contemporary issues of regional trade and commerce as well as investment and tourism promotion, according to FNCCI, which is a member of CACCI.

On the sideline of the meeting, business leaders will also discuss on technology transfer and inter-member country trade and investment promotion. Among CACCI members, the Nepali business delegation plans to hold discussions with participants from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan to attract foreign investment and technology transfer.

Dhakal will chair the meeting of Textile and Garment Council under CACCI, in which Nepal will raise the issue of preferential market access to products from LDCs.
