KATHMANDU, JANUARY 16

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 7.33 points or 0.28% on Thursday, closing at 2,588.62 points.

Along with the dip in the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index fell by 0.54%, while the Float Index dropped by 0.60%.

Today the sectoral performance was mostly negative, with only five sectors gaining, while eight sectors recorded losses. The Finance sector suffered the most significant decline, plunging by 5.19%.

Among individual companies, Pokhara Finance Ltd. (PFL) was the worst performer, witnessing a 10% loss in share value.

On the other hand, Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited (BNL), Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB), and Mandakini Hydropower Limited (MHL) were the top gainers, each recording a 10% rise in share prices.

In terms of individual stock movements, 89 companies saw their share prices rise, 151 declined, and three remained unchanged.

The daily turnover reached Rs 5.93 billion, with 11,749,701 shares traded across 296 companies in 70,634 transactions.

The total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.293 trillion.
