KATHMANDU, APRIL 13
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 8.62 points, or 0.32 percent, on Sunday, settling at 2,662.08 points by the end of the trading day.
The Sensitive Index, which measures the performance of class 'A' companies, rose by 0.09 percent, while the Float Index, which reflects the performance of actively traded shares, declined by 0.21 percent.
The overall market was mostly negative, with only four sectors recording gains. The Investment sector led with a 1.68 percent rise, followed by Mutual Fund (0.26 percent), Hotels and Tourism (0.14 percent), and Non-life Insurance (0.08 percent).
Conversely, the Trading sector recorded the highest loss of the day, dropping by 1.40 percent. None of the remaining sectors reported a decline exceeding 1 percent.
The total turnover stood at Rs 6.28 billion, with 13,189,328 units of shares from 322 companies traded in 54,361 transactions.
By the market's close, the total market capitalization was recorded at Rs 4.425 trillion.
In terms of individual stock movement, 157 companies saw a decline in their share prices, while 88 companies advanced and one remained unchanged.
Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) faced the sharpest decline, hitting the lower circuit limit with a 10 percent drop in its share price.
Meanwhile, the 12% Goodwill Finance Limited Debenture 2083 (GWFD83) and Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited (NMIC) both hit the upper circuit limit, gaining 10 percent each.
