KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 29

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a decline of 17.93 points or 0.94 percent, bringing the index to 1,876.60 points on Wednesday. The sole secondary market of the country was affected by technical glitches, causing it to open late at 11:24 am. In response, NEPSE extended the trading period until 3:24 pm.

Along with the drop in the benchmark index, the sensitive index, which evaluates the performance of 'A' class stocks, saw a decline of 0.81 percent or 2.96 points, closing at 358.89 points. The float index, reflecting the performance of actively traded shares, also dropped by 1.01 percent, adding 1.33 points to reach 129.51 points.

In today's trading, all the sub-indices were in the red, with only the Other index gaining 0.16 percent. Meanwhile, the Manufacturing and Processing index led the pack of losers with a 2.13 percent or 106.96-point decline.

During the trading session, a total of 4,900,897 units of shares from 290 different companies were exchanged in 34,747 transactions, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 1.236 billion. The overall market capitalization reached Rs 2.893 trillion. Today, a total of 42 scrips advanced, 190 declined, and seven remained unchanged.
