The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) wrapped up the week on a high note, closing today's trading session with a gain of 13.51 points. This uptick amounted to a 0.67% increase, settling the index at 2,030.55 points by the end of Thursday.

In sync with the benchmark index, the sensitive index, reflecting the performance of 'A' class stocks, also saw a positive movement of 0.53%. Likewise, the float index, which gauges actively traded shares, showed a rise of 0.71%.

Today's market painted a mostly optimistic picture, with the Non-Life insurance sector leading the gainers at 1.56%, closely followed by the hydropower sector with 1.14% growth. However, three sectors-Trading, Hotels and Tourism, and Mutual Funds-failed to gain ground, experiencing declines of 0.79%, 0.25%, and 0.24%, respectively.

With 176 companies advancing, 59 declining, and 11 remaining unchanged, the overall market sentiment leaned towards positivity. Today, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited (PHCL) stood out as the sole company experiencing a remarkable 10% increase in its share values.

Despite the overall positive market sentiment, the daily market turnover witnessed a decline compared to Wednesday. Today's intra-day turnover amounted to Rs 3.1 billion, exchanged through 8,929,152 units of shares across 309 companies in 47,699 transactions. This figure was slightly lower than Wednesday's recorded turnover of Rs 3.4 billion.

The total market capitalization stood at a substantial Rs 3.191 trillion.
