KATHMANDU, JANUARY 28

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 24.50 points (0.93%) on Tuesday, closing at 2,657.77 points.

Along with the increase in the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index also increased by 0.72%, while the Float Index saw a 0.93% rise. The daily turnover reached Rs 9 billion, with 19,680,195 units of shares from 325 scrips traded in 95,097 transactions.

Sectoral performance was positive, with all sectors recording gains. The Development Bank sector led the pack with a 4.07% increase, followed by the Finance sector (1.88%), Others sector (1.74%), Hydropower sector (1.49%), Manufacturing and Processing sector (1.23%), and Investment sector (1.03%).

Four companies - Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL), Sikles Hydropower Limited (SIKLES), Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL), and Janaki Finance Company Limited (JFL) - stood out with a 10% increase in their share values.

Out of the 243 companies traded, 177 saw their share prices advance, 60 declined, and six remained unchanged. The total market capitalization at the end of the trading day stood at Rs 4.409 trillion.
