KATHMANDU, JUNE 29
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 26.53 points or 1.02% on Sunday, closing at 2,622.28 points, as the market maintained a broadly positive trend throughout the trading session.
All sectors closed in the green except the Manufacturing and Processing sector, which declined by 0.56%. The Banking sector led the gainers with a 2.00% rise, followed by Development Banks (1.61%), Microfinance (1.58%), and Others (1.35%). No other sectors posted gains of over 1%.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' companies, rose by 1.05%, while the Float Index, representing actively traded stocks, climbed 1.15%.
Total turnover stood at Rs 7.12 billion, with 16,643,114 shares of 328 companies traded across 74,752 transactions.
Of the traded stocks, 185 gained, while 63 declined.
Sahas Urja Limited (SAHAS) led the trading charts in terms of turnover, volume, and transactions, with 975,598 shares traded worth Rs 578.69 million in 4,251 transactions.
At the end of the session, total market capitalization reached Rs 4.369 trillion.
