KATHMANDU, AUGUST 8

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a modest gain of 6.70 points, or 0.24%, closing at 2,766.38 points at the end of today's trading session.

The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of class 'A' stocks, increased by 0.04%, while the float index, which measures actively traded shares, rose by 0.18%.

Today, seven sectors recorded losses, while five sectors experienced gains. The manufacturing and processing sector emerged as the top performer, with a significant gain of 5.87%.

Regarding individual stock movements, 79 companies advanced, 160 companies declined, and three companies remained unchanged. Six companies-KRBL, SHIVM, GCIL, MSHL, SONA, and SARBTM-achieved a 10% increase in their share values.

The daily turnover reached Rs 20 billion, with 50,946,832 units of shares of 322 companies exchanged across 209,965 transactions. On Wednesday, the intraday turnover exceeded Rs 17 billion.

The total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.391 trillion today.
