The daily turnover also sees improvement on the first trading day of the week

KATHMANDU, JULY 11

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, saw an improvement with the Nepse index rising by 74.71 points, on the first trading day of the week.

The market that has was moving along a downward trend in recent days saw the benchmark index jump upward to 2,899.82 points a 2.64 per cent rise at the end of the trading day.

The daily turnover also saw an increase with a total of 31,588,850 units shares of 225 companies traded for Rs 8.061 billion.

The sensitive index, which measures performance of Class 'A' stocks, also rose by 2.60 per cent or 13.77 points to 543.43 points. Similarly, the float index that gauges performances of shares actually traded also fell by 2.93 per cent or 5.74 points to 201.17 points.

Likewise, all the sub-indices were in the green today with the life insurance index leading the pack of the gainers with a 494.27 point rise followed by Non-Life insurance and Development Bank indices with 378.53 points and 357.50 respectively.

At the end of the day, the total market capitalisation reached Rs 4.033 trillion.
