NIBL unveils Re 1 saving account

Kathmandu, August 22:

Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) has launched a new Re 1 saving scheme, Afnai Bachat Khata’, across all its 16 branches starting August 17.

The scheme is targeted towards lower and middle class segment. Customers can open a saving account with a low minimum balance of Re 1 at any of the branches, states a bank press release.

All customers will be issued a Visa Electron Debit Card on an issuance fee of Rs 200 under this scheme.

As part of the core strategy of the bank to expand its clientele base, the scheme has been introduced to inculcate the first banking experience among citizens, adds the release.

The scheme provides an opportunity to people with low disposable income to start banking relations with one of the leading banks in Nepal and avail all international services and privileges associated with it.

The bank has also added one more value added service for the first time in Nepal, especially for Nepal Telecom’s prepaid cellular mobile phone users. Now, the prepaid mobile users can recharge their phone through NIBL ATM counters instead of buying a recharge card.
