NICCI interaction programme held

KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and Embassy of India’s scheduled monthly interaction programme was held in the Capital.

Gautam Sen, retired lecturer (London School of Economics) and an advisor to PM of India on economic policy and Indo-Nepal relations, spoke on the ‘Challenges Facing Economies of India and Nepal: Reconstruction and High Growth Paths’, primarily focusing on the growth trajectory of India since independence, the advantages that Nepal enjoys due to its strategic location between China and India and also on the potential of the country’s key sectors capable of contributing to a substantial GDP growth, as per press release issued on Monday.

He praised Nepal’s rehabilitation and reconstruction plan but opined that speedy implementation is the need of the hour. Dignitaries including Govind Raj Pokharel, Rameshwar Khanal, CA Member Uday Rana and N R Joshi alongside representatives of private and banking sectors were present at the event.
