Nissan recalls 326,161 vehicles

TOKYO: Japanese auto giant Nissan Motor said it would recall a total of 326,161 vehicles in Japan because of problems with the brakes and other glitches.

It would recall 217,592 units of the Elgrand series of minivans and those sold under the Isuzu Filly name due to corrosion fears in the cable systems for the parking brake, according to documents filed with the transport ministry.

It will also call back 102,785 Serena minivans and Cefiro sedans to repair the fuel gauge, the documents said.

A separate recall covers 5,138 Teana sedans because of faulty electric seat-position adjusters, while 646 Skyline vehicles have a problem with the airbag system.
