KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 1
NMB Bank has introduced a new card-based online payment gateway in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL), aiming to strengthen secure and convenient digital payments nationwide.
The gateway enables both physical stores and e-commerce businesses to accept payments made through Visa and Mastercard issued by any domestic or international bank. The system supports transactions within Nepal as well as payments coming from abroad, offering businesses wider access to customers and helping expand the country's digital commerce landscape.
Designed with enhanced security, the platform uses 3D Secure technology, adding verification steps such as OTPs or passwords to minimize fraud and unauthorized transactions. NMB Bank said the strengthened security features will help build greater trust among both consumers and merchants engaging in online transactions.
The bank noted that the partnership with NCHL marks a significant step toward promoting e-commerce and advancing Nepal's digital economy. Interested online merchants can contact NMB Bank to integrate the new gateway into their platforms.
NMB Bank currently operates 202 branches, 184 ATMs, and 9 extended counters across the country.
