KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced an increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

As per the corporation, petrol prices have been raised by Rs 2 per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices have increased by Rs 3 per liter.

Citing new procurement rates received from the Indian Oil Corporation today, the NOC reported that the cost of petrol has risen by Rs 2.24 per liter, and diesel by Rs 3.55 per liter.

Following the adjustment, the price of petrol in the first category has increased from Rs 160.50 to Rs 162.50 per liter. In the second category, it has gone up from Rs 162 to Rs 164 per liter, while in the third category, it has climbed from Rs 163 to Rs 165 per liter.

Similarly, the price of diesel and kerosene in the first category has risen from Rs 150.50 to Rs 153.50 per liter. In the second category, prices have increased from Rs 152 to Rs 155 per liter, and in the third category, from Rs 153 to Rs 156 per liter.

The NOC has classified regions into three categories: Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj are listed under the first category; Surkhet and Dang fall under the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal are in the third category.

The revised prices for petrol, diesel, and kerosene will be effective from midnight, following the decision by the NOC Board of Directors.
