Kathmandu, January 31

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) today issued the 'Unified Directive on Payment System-2023', which has relaxed the daily transaction cap for digital payments.

The new directive serves to increase the limit for transactions made through mobile banking and QR code.

Pursuant to the Unified Directive on Payment System-2023, customers can now transfer Rs 300,000 per day through mobile banking, including QR code.

Previously, daily transaction limit through mobile banking was Rs 200,000.

Likewise, transaction limit from a bank account to a mobile wallet or mobile wallet to bank account has been also increased. Now, the cap from wallet to other bank accounts or bank accounts to wallet has been hiked to Rs 200,000 per day. Earlier, the daily transaction limit was Rs 100,000.

However, the limit of wallet to wallet transfer has been decreased to Rs 50,000 per day from Rs 100,000 earlier.
