NT introduces new scheme

Kathmandu, December 12

After being flooded with complaints from subscribers having trouble topping up their balances, Nepal Telecom (NT) today launched a new scheme to encourage using higher amount when recharging their balance so that the frequency of recharging could be minimised.

The company has launched a bonus scheme during recharging the balance, under which consumers can get up to 15 per cent bonus (of the recharge amount). The scheme is coming into effect from tomorrow and will be in place until January 14.

According to Pratibha Vaidya, spokesperson for NT, the scheme has been introduced as frequent recharge requests from users had clogged the services. “The new plan is aimed at encouraging people to recharge higher amounts so that our users do not have to face the same problem of topping up their balances time and again.”

This means, for example if a person uses recharge cards amounting to Rs 50 each to top up their balance four times a week, the company wants to motivate that user to use a

recharge card of Rs 200 once a week.

NT has offered five per cent, 10 per cent and 15 per cent bonus for recharge amount of Rs 200, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, respectively.

Likewise, the company has announced 10 per cent bonus while recharging using MPoS (Pinless Top-Up) Recharge Service for Rs 100 and above.

NT has said this scheme will be applicable for both GSM and CDMA users.
