Officials off to S Korea for EDST

KATHMANDU: Ten officials from the Ministry of Finance and National Planning Commission (NPC) left for South Korea today to participate in Economic Development Strategy Training (EDST) programme.

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is organising the programme from September 10 to 26. The prime objective of the programme is to support capacity building, poverty reduction and environmentally sustainable economic growth to share Korea’s experience and knowledge in economic development and enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between Nepal and

Korea.

The programme includes a series of lectures and group discussions regarding Korea’s development strategy. Korean ambassador to Nepal Hong Sungmog hoped that their study in Korea would be informative and that these participants would become better equipped with specialised new knowledge for promoting economic development in Nepal.
