KATHMANDU: Nepalis residing in Qatar will be able to talk to their friends and family members at the cheapest rate till date, as Ooredoo Qatar has slashed the rate to call any Nepal Telecom (NT) number from Ooredoo’s prepaid mobiles. With this scheme, a caller using Ooredoo’s prepaid mobile can call any NT number for 20 dirhams or Rs 5.75 per minute, as per a press release issued on Friday.

The offer, which is being introduced as per the special request of NT for the upcoming Dashain

festival, will be in place from September 25 to October 24.

The offer is expected to benefit around 700,000 Nepali workers employed in Qatar, among others. The new rate is significantly cheaper as compared to normal rates of 45 dirhams or Rs 13 per minute. The charge for making a call to Qatar from Nepal stands at Rs 12 per minute.
