KATHMANDU, JUNE 11

Nepal has imported 14,500 electric vehicles (EVs) from China through the Rasuwagadhi transit point over the past decade, according to the Rasuwa Customs Office.

Due to delays in customs clearance, hundreds of EVs remain parked in Timure, Ghattakhola, and Rasuwagadhi.

So far, only 2,570 vehicles have completed the customs process and are en route to Kathmandu, said Customs Information Officer Rabindra Pyakurel.

In addition to EVs, other goods such as footwear, garments, and electronic items are also being imported through the border point.
