KATHMANDU: The Project for Agriculture Commercialisation and Trade (PACT) under the Ministry of Agricutlrual Development on Tuesday distributed grant agreements to grant recipients of the Tarai region.

A programme was held in Sarlahi to distribute the agreements to grantees from Sindhuli, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Makawanpur and Chitwan districts.

Sub-projects there are involved in fishery, dairy, meat and vegetable productions, according to the World Bank-funded project team in Kathmandu.

Addressing the programme, PACT Director Govinda Prasad Sharma urged the grantees to complete the small and middle-scale sub-projects on time.

Other PACT officials, experts, representatives of the Regional Agricultural Directorate and the Regional Livestock Directorate were also present in the programme.

Other grant agreements would be distributed to the grantees in Kathmandu soon, according to PACT.
