Pokhara Tourism Council is organising the second ‘Paddy Plantation Festival - 2062’ on June 29. This year the organisers are planning to celebrate the festival in a grand manner, chief coordinator of the festival Bishnu Gurung said. On the occasion, rice plantation, monsoon song and oxen decoration competitions will be held, he informed. Events like mud slinging and dancing to the tune of Panchai bazaa will also be organised. Apart from preserving the age-old tradition, the purposes of the festival is also to woo tourists to visit Pokhara even during the off season, Gurung said.
