Panchakanya brings ready mix concrete
Kathmandu, April 8:
Panchakanya Concrete Premix Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Panchakanya Group, has started production of ready mix concrete (RMC) under the brand name PanMix for the first time in Nepal.
Announcing the launch of the new product, Prad-eep Kumar Shrestha, MD, Panchakanya Group, said that RMC is concrete delivered at site or to the purch-aser’s vehicle in a plastic co-ndition, which requires no further treatment before being placed in a position to set and harden.
RMC has cement, aggregates, water and other ingredients, whi-ch are weigh-batched at a centrally located computer controlled plant. “It monitors weigh batching, water-cement ratio, dosage of admixture, moisture content and so on, with precision to produce RMC,” he said.
The RMC is then transported to the site in transit mixers, where it is placed by pumping with concrete pu-mps that can pump up to 100m horizontally and 20m vertically at the rate of 30 cubic metre per hour. Every unit of RMC is supplied with test report to ensure high quality of the concrete, informed Shrestha, adding that the required amount of ready mix concrete will be made available.
“At present, the company has set up two plants in Naikap (Thankot) and Kot-eswar and plans to open a third plant very soon.”
Besides quality, RMC will greatly benefit customers by eliminating storage spa-ce for basic materials at site and procurement or renting plant and machinery, Shrestha claimed. Wastage of basic materials and labour associated with production of concrete would be avoided with the use of RMC.
The RMC will be initially available in the Kathmandu valley for all kinds of construction. The cost of RMC is estimated at Rs 7,500 per cubic metre.
