Parasi fish fry sales
PARASI: Fish hatcheries in Nawalparasi district produce around 111 million fish fingerlings annually. According to the Nawalparasi district agricultural development office, the private hatcheries produce and sell the fingerlings in the district apart from neighbourings district Chitawan and Rupandehi. Big head carp, grass carp, common carp, silver carp and naini as well as other species of fish are hatched here. — RSS
More hotels opening
KASKI: The number of hotels, travel and trekking agencies is on the rise in Pokhara. In 2009, 22 new hotels opened in Pokhara while some others are to open soon. The number of hotels has reached 475 in Pokhara. Some 14 new travel and four trekking agencies have been registered. Now, the city has 83 travel and 67 trekking agencies. According to data from the Tourism Office, Pokhara, investment in the hotel sector increased by nearly 11 per cent in 2009 compared to the preceding year. Hotels, travel and trekking agencies in the city provide direct jobs to nearly 4,000 people. Investment in trekking and travel sectors increased by Rs. 430 million in 2009 compared to 2008. However, there is no starred hotel yet.
