World Travel Market (WTM) 2022, one of the largest international travel exhibitions that kicked off from November 7 in London, concluded on Wednesday.
With the theme of 'The Future of Travel Starts Now', 24 tourism companies of Nepal under the leadership of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in the exhibition.
Inaugurating Nepal's stall during the opening ceremony, Nepali Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya encouraged all the participating companies to promote Nepal's tourism.
Likewise, stating that the exhibition concluded with flair, CEO of NTB Dhananjay Regmi said that the exhibition played a positive role in promoting Nepal's tourism during post-COVID period.
"Nepal has participated in various tourism promotion programmes. However, this mart was different in the sense that the participating private companies received an opportunity to renew contacts and establish new business partnerships," Regmi informed.
"I reckon it will help to bring Nepal's tourism to normalcy," he added.
Travel tech companies, transport operators, airliners, adventure sports companies, media, travel influencers, bloggers, tourism marketing consultants, tourism experts, academicians, businessmen enthusiastically participated in the show by exhibiting their tourism products.
Meanwhile, NTB and the Nepali Embassy in London jointly organised a special programme on November 8 at the embassy's premises.
Recalling their experiences in Nepal at the event, legendary British mountaineer duo Sir Chris Bonington and Alan Hincks urged Britishers to visit Nepal.
More than 100 British travel tour operators, British mountaineers, media and others had participated in the programme, Manager of NTB Gobinda Oli informed.
