PATA set for Nepal venture
Kathmandu, March 25:
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will organise an Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart in Nepal in 2010.
The event, supported by PATA’s Nepal Chapter, is slated for February 1 to 5, 2010, in Kathmandu with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) acting as the host. The date for the proposed conference was finalised during Minister for Tourism Hisila Yami’s visit to PATA’S ITB in Berlin.
“This is a travel mart dedicated to sellers and buyers involved passionately in a significant niche travel segment. We’re looking to create an exciting event for buyers and sellers of the very latest adventure destinations and products,” said PATA events director Sheila Leong.
The conference on ‘Responsible Tourism’ reflects PATA’s commitment in this field and details of the agenda and speakers will be released soon. “We’re must bring together the public and private sectors to address the really urgent issues facing the industry as pressure continues to mount for sustainable development,” Leong added.
