Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed subordinate bodies to thoroughly investigate the issue of fake bills and the fraudulent use of stickers, emphasizing the need for strong actions against those engaged in such wrongdoing.

He underscored that halting revenue leakage is imperative for bolstering the national economy.

During a meeting held at his office in Singha Durbar on Sunday, PM Dahal directed officials from his office, the Home Ministry, and the Ministry of Finance to focus on strategies for curbing revenue leakage.

Addressing the attendees, PM Dahal stated, "Priority must be given to combating fraudulent schemes designed for revenue leakage and illegal business practices. Instances of counterfeit bills, invoices, and stickers have been reported, necessitating serious attention and enhanced monitoring."

He also reiterated the government's renewed commitment to expediting its initiatives, highlighting that corruption, smuggling, and tax evasion impede progress towards economic prosperity.

According to the PM, addressing public frustration requires a significant shift away from traditional work styles, behaviors, and mindsets. He emphasized the need to enforce the culture of issuing and receiving legitimate bills within the domestic market.

PM Dahal emphasized that embracing new technologies is crucial for transforming businesses, and he stressed the importance of ensuring that tax administration is technology-friendly to enhance revenue generation.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Ravi Lamichhane, Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, Finance Secretary Dr. Krishna Hari Puskar, Revenue Secretary Dr. Ram Prasad Ghimire, Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Secretaries at the Prime Minister's Office, Inspector General of Police Basant Kunwar, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, and Director Generals from the Ministry of Finance.
