Sanima Bank, PCN set up national journalism award

Sanima Bank, a class ‘A’ financial institution, today joined hands with Press Council Nepal (PCN) for the operation of ‘Press Council Sanima Bank Rastriya Patrakarita Puraskar’.
Sanima Bank, on the occasion of its 11th anniversary, has signed an agreement with Press Council Nepal to distribute this award from next year on the occasion of the bank’s anniversary on Mansir 21, every year.
Sanima Bank has announced cash purse of Rs 500,000 to promote professional journalism in the country. Starting next year, the prize will be given every year to a media house or a journalist, who has made a significant contribution to the field and served a minimum of two decades in journalism.
Chairman of Press Council Nepal, Borna Bahadur Karki and Bhuvan Dahal, chief executive officer of Sanima Bank, signed a pact to distribute the prize from next year.
The jury for the selection of worthy candidates has also been formed. Press Council Nepal’s chairman is chairperson in the jury that comprises president of Federation of Nepali Journalists, experts related to the fields of journalism and law, and a representative from a bank as a member. The chief officer of the Press Council Nepal is the member secretary of the jury committee.
