SASEC operation plan unveiled

KATHMANDU: The government has made public the nine-year operation plan for the South Asian Sub-Regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) with assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The government and the ADB launched the operation plan by organising a national consultation workshop here today to take it among the stakeholders.

Baikuntha Aryal, Chief of the International Economic Cooperation Coordination Division (IECD) under the Ministry of Finance, and ADB Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama jointly unveiled the operation plan.

On the occasion, the ADB Country Director said that the newly launched operation plan underscored import, commerce and trade facilitation and energy sector.

The IECD Chief Aryal asserted that the government had prioritised activities related to economic development to graduate Nepal from the Least Developed Country (LCD) to the developing country by 2022.
