SCB unveils branch in Dharan

Kathmandu, June 1:

A new branch of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd (SCBNL) has been opened in Dharan today in front of a gathering of banking officials, local people and concerned experts.

Panche Baja, a traditional Nepali band played while the branch was being inaugurated.

Jaspal Bindra, general manager of South Asia Region of Standard Chartered Bank, inaugurated the Dharan branch of SCBNL today, states a press statement issued by the bank. Bindra is the newly-elected chairman of the bank for Nepal.

The new branch is located at Buddha Marg in Dharan which has been designed in the Standard Chartered Group’s branch model.

Sunil Pokharel, manager of the Biratnagar branch of the bank welcomed the guests. Speaking at the same function, Sujit Mundul said that the bank took this initiative considering the increasing need of its customers.

Bindra congratulated all those involved, the staff of the bank and the vendors for putting together such a wonderful branch at a very short period of time.

He reiterated the commitment of Standard Chartered in Nepal. He also pointed out that with the operation of this branch, people of this area will be able to enjoy the benefits of world-class products and services.
