KATHMANDU: The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON), and the Nepal Private Equity Association (NPEA), a non-profit association of private equity, venture capital, and alternative investors, have officially entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration and promote the growth of the private and alternative investment industry in Nepal.

The Executive Chairman of SEBON, Ramesh Kumar Hamal and the Chairman of NPEA, Siddhant Raj Pandey, jointly signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations, as per a media release.

The MoU was signed after second annual general meeting of NPEA and solidifies the commitment of both parties to advance innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation in Nepal by facilitating greater access to finance for businesses in the region. SEBON will provide regulatory support, both will work towards industry advocacy and promotion of the alternative/specialised investment industry including training and information sharing.

NPEA is Nepal's umbrella organisation that represents all alternative investment players in the market.
