A group of three IT enthusiasts have come up with an idea of enabling individuals as well as companies to sell and buy a wide variety of new or used goods through online classified portal. Prabal Saakha with help of Pranav Shrestha and Pranay Shrestha developed and launched a free online classified portal — Hamrobazar.com. It is a platform developed using Internet tools, which connects potential buyers and sellers, says Saakha, who is also director at Saakha Group, Nepal’s one of leading industrial and trading group. “We thought Internet could be an effective promotional and communication tool for connecting buyers and sellers. The concept of Hamrobazar.com is to provide a platform, where any buyers and sellers can transact their goods or services freely,” he added. The free online classified provides sellers to advertise their goods or services at free of cost but one has to register first, says Saakha,

“and anybody can access it at www.hamrobazar.com.”

Compared to newspapers classifieds, product display and information will have more comprehensive details in Hamrobaza-r.com and can reach unlimited potential customers. Anyone can upload the details at anytime and anybody can access to information in Hamrobazar. com, it is completely free, he adds. Saakha hopes that it will create opportunities in changing society and people will have easy provision to market their products. According to him, mobile phone, computer and peripherals, cars and furniture are some of the goods having most bought and sold products through Hamrobazar.com.

The advertisers have their own control over the advertised products and services, which can be added, edited or deleted as and when required. One can also check the viewers’ hits and change information at their own convenience, Saakha says. The number of Internet users in Nepal has already reached 250,000, which indicates the market for Internet advertising a highly lucrative business.
