Shuttle bus service for int’l visitors on poll day
Kathmandu, April 8:
While the day of the Constituent Assembly elections on April 10 will see no vehicles plying on the roads, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has arranged a shuttle bus service for the international passengers.
The buses will ply from 5am to 10pm from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to various hotels and vice-versa on Thursday, states a press release issued here today by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
Tourism entrepreneurs in association with NTB had reportedly aquired this special permission last week from the Election Commission to manage the transportation for foreign tourists.
According to the NTB press release, the six shuttle buses will run on three different routes to cover all the major hotels of Kathmandu. “These buses would be manned by the tourist police in order to avoid any untoward incident,” the press release added.
The shuttle service would ply on Airport — NAC — New Road — Hotel Annapurna — Hotel Yak & Yeti-Thamel Chowk — Lainchour Chowk — Hotel Shanker Hotel- Ambassador — Airport.
Similarly, the other shuttle service would ply on Airport — Hotel Yak & Yeti — Hotel Radisson — Hotel Shangrila — Narayan Gopal Chowk — Maharajganj Chowk — Hyatt Regency — Chabahil Chowk — Hotel Dwarika — Airport.
The third shuttle service would ply on Airport — Tinkune Chowk — Hotel Everest — Maitighar Chowk — Hotel Himalaya — Hotel Soaltee — Hotel Grand — Airport route.
