SOI Group celebrates anniversary

SOI Group Pvt Ltd — a leading business house — celebrated its anniversary recently in Kathmandu. While speaking at a programme organised on January 1, Captain R P Pradhan, executive chairman of the Group, congratulated the staff for thier untiring efforts in development of the company and encouraged them for higher achievements both as an individual and as a team. He stressed on individual responsibility and a sense of belonging for the overall development of the company. “The growth of a company is the growth of an individual also,” he added. Established more than a decade ago, SOI Group is a conglomerate of 14 companies with involvement in travel, tourism, aviation, telecommunication, banking, FMCG, general trading and manufacturing. The group has an annual turnover of

over $500 million and staff strength of over 1000 employees. Among the high achievements of the group in 2004 was the successful launch of the international operation of Cosmic Air – starting its flights to Dhaka and New Delhi. Another achievement was the sale of 2000 Hyundai vehicles in Nepal. AVCO International is the sole distributor of Hyundai vehicles for Nepal. AVCO International also organised product presentation and demonstration flight of Bell 407 successfully in a high altitude trial in Mustang area. Bell Helicopter Textron, the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer, entered Nepal appointing an independent representative for Nepal— AVCO International Pvt Ltd.
