KATHMANDU, AUGUST 17
The Social Security Fund (SSF), under the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, has launched its SSF app, through which contributors will be able to avail different types of loan facilities.
Eligible contributors could get special credit, housing loan, educational loan and social loan using the app. The mobile application is currently under review on Google's play store and will be available to the masses very soon.
At a programme organised at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security today, Labour Minister Sher Bahadur Kunwar launched the contributor special credit and mobile app.
Altogether 352,924 contributors are enrolled in the SSF. A total of Rs 22.08 million has been deposited in the fund so far. There is a provision that a contributor enrolled in the fund has to deposit 11 per cent of the amount of his/her basic remuneration and the employer has to contribute 20 per cent monthly.
As per the Contributors Credit Guidelines-2021, a user who has made regular contributions to the SSF for three years could be eligible to get such credit and loans.
Furthermore, Minister Kunwar directed the fund to make its service technology-friendly and urged the concerned bodies to widen the social security coverage.
Through the application, service-seekers can see if they are eligible for SSF, fill KYC forms, withdraw money, download claim forms, apply for special loans, find the nearest hospitals and leave feedback.
