KATHMANDU: Anna Marrs, regional chief executive of ASEAN and South Asia and CEO of commercial and private banking of Standard Chartered, arrived here on Sunday for a three-day visit, as per a media release.

Marrs was appointed as the regional chief executive of ASEAN and South Asia, Standard Chartered Bank, on November 28, 2016.

She had joined Standard Chartered as group head of strategy and corporate development in January 2012. In her role as head of strategy, she led reviews of the bank’s businesses globally, with notable projects focusing on Nigeria, China and India.

In her current role as CEO of commercial and private banking, Marrs has led restructuring of the bank’s commercial banking business and scaling up of private banking and wealth management. She has also championed increased investment in technology and analytics across both businesses.

Marrs holds an MBA from London Business School and an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. During her stay, she is scheduled to meet central bank officials, clients and other stakeholders of the bank.
